One of Lallemand Health Solutions probiotic manufacturing plant is in Saint-Simon, a commune situated in the Aurillac Basin in the Cantal department in south-central France. In the Saint-Simon installation are produced probiotic supplements for the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industries as well as ferments for the agri-food industries. The Saint-Simon plant has earned internationally recognized accreditations and licenses throughout the years and is fully certified to produce probiotics (pure strains), live biotherapeutics (active pharmaceutical ingredients – API) and investigational products.

Key milestones
- In 1988, Lallemand acquires a bacterial Pharma GMP production plant located in Saint-Simon, France, authorized to produce human medicinal products.
- In 2021, to all production licenses and certifications acquired to date, Saint-Simon plant extends its pharma manufacturer’s authorization to human investigational medicinal products.
