SYLVIE BINDA PRESENTS AT THE JOURNÉE MICROBIOTES ET SANTÉ
Sylvie Binda, Vice President Research and Development at Lallemand Health Solutions will contribute to the 6th edition of the Journée Microbiotes et Santé (Microbiota and Health Day), organized by Lyonbiopôle in partnership with the Alliance Promotion Microbiote, scheduled for March 9 at the International City of Gastronomy in Lyon, France.
This year’s edition will revolve around the theme Bioproduction and Market Access for Microbiotic Medicinal Products. Thematic conferences, round tables and networking activities are on the program for this event.
“As part of this day, I will present the global mapping of production capacities already available for these new types of products. I will address the intrinsic challenges of bio-production, including technological issues and those related to regulations. I will also take part in a round table that will put biotherapies and bioproduction into perspective,” says Sylvie Binda.

For 25 years, Sylvie Binda has been studying the beneficial effects of microorganisms on human health and the environment. In 2020, she joined the R&D team of Lallemand Health Solutions and has held the position of Vice President of Research and Development since 2021. Sylvie also sits in several renowned scientific associations in the field of probiotics and human microbiota (IPA, IPAEU, APM, HMA).
About research and development at Lallemand Health Solutions
The major R&D challenges focus on the development and characterization of the effects of first and new generation probiotics on human health. Lallemand’s Health Solutions division has integrated platforms for preclinical, clinical, galenic and bioprocess development, and a dedicated R&D team of 40 people, notably managing some twenty clinical trials on five continents. The division’s production plants operate according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), including one site holding a manufacturing authorization according to GMP for medicinal products for human use (Saint-Simon, France).
