Prenatis by Lallemand Obtains New Canadian Health Claims 

Mirabel, December 1, 2025 – Lallemand Health Solutions is proud to announce that its clinically studied formula Prenatis™, designed to support maternal health during pregnancy and promote the development of a healthy infant microbiome through breastfeeding, has obtained new health claims in Canada. 

Health Canada has officially approved the following claims for Prenatis™ (Lactobacillus rhamnosus Rosell®-11 and Bifidobacterium bifidum HA-132).

Prenatis™ was evaluated in a large clinical trial involving 180 healthy women in their third trimester. Participants took 5 billion CFU daily for 12 weeks before birth and continued for 4–6 weeks postpartum, with follow-ups up to one year. Results showed fewer diagnosed infections and a trend toward reduced bacterial vaginosis. In infants, supplementation led to fewer sick days and improved gut microbiome development, especially in C-section deliveries.
